New Balance Women's 1400 V1 Walking Shoe
These New Balance hiking shoes are great. My ankle still swells at times since surgery. These shoes help stabilize and support my ankle. They actually assist in reducing swelling. I love the rollbar technology.

Love New Balance shoes. If you walk on the outside of your feet (Supinate) then these are helpful, since they have a Rollbar.
Lighter weight than waterproof New Balance hiking boots, not much support, good value for price
New Balance Women's WW1400v1 Walking Shoe extra wide is out of stock I picked up the Columbia Women's Newton Ridge Plus Hiking Boot. Not nearly as solid. Funny thing is the Newton Ridge looks smaller on the foot but feels longer. It is a true size 9 wide. So if you are an 8.5 wide you may want to order your actual size for a change.<br /><br />1400v1 Walking shoe is better overall, a better padded waterproof boot with better arch support and deeper foot bed for overall grip and support. But if you don't need too much protection and you want something a bit lighter the Newton Ridge Plus Hiking Boot is a good choice.
Love these all terrain New Balance!
This is my second pair of all terrain walking boots with roller bar from New Balance and I just love them!!! Wearing them as I write this. I get them a half size too big so that I can put heavy socks on, but when I don't need those, I can tighten the laces with regular socks and they are still perfect. Comfortable, water proof, heavy duty walking shoes for the light weight hiker.
