Ultra comfortable New Balance shoes
Ultra comfortable New Balance shoes. I like that the tongue is not a separate material but rather the entire shoe fits like a sock. Great for casual walking--not sure if I would use these as my daily runners.
New Balance finally got their act together
New Balance had slowly but sure began constricting and tightening their shoes. From the early models of the 1080s and 1260s to the later models I had noticed a drastic difference. So much so that my left foot began going numb during runs. This shoe is very reminiscent of an early model 1080 or 1260 (V1 or V2). It provides an extremely roomy forefoot. No constriction whatsoever. That being said, if you have a narrow foot, this shoe is not for you. The first thing I noticed with this shoe was a slight wobble and a minute amount of pressure under my arch. This goes away with time, but I think it is more about getting used to it than breaking in the shoe. Also, the sole of the shoe is very sticky. An analogy would be comparing racing tires to long lasting truck tires. I can see the wear even from running on my treadmill. I can actually see the sole leaving minute remnants after an hour of running on my treadmill. Anyhow, if you found the later models of the 1260 and 1080 to be constrictive, this is a good training shoe and I recommend it.
New Balance is the best!
I love New Balance shoes especially their line of workout shoes. I've religiously used New Balance now for ~7 years. They have better quality shoes than Nike, Reebok, and Adidas. Very comfortable, light weight and I love the look of them.
New Balance is the best, recommended by my podiatrist
This is my 7th or 8th pair of New Balance running shoes.<br />They are expensive but what the heck, you get what you pay for.<br />The fit is perfect which makes them the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.<br />I have arthritis in the ankles and knees. My podiatrist said these shoes will support the ankles and soften the blows of daily walking.<br />Forget the running, at 72 I am glad to just to be able to walk without a cane or other support.<br />Also, big time, these shoes are made in the the good old US of A.
The Best New Balance Shoe to replace the 1260
I tried the NB Fresh Foam products. I find the Fresh Foam too hard vs the nice cushion you get from their former 1200 series like the 1220 and the 1260. IMHO, the 940 is the shoe best purchased for those like myself who liked the NB 1260 series. The shoe has good cushioning, no fresh foam, excellent stability, large toe box and runs 1/4 size bigger than their Fresh Foam products. The only problem is the 940 typically sells for full price and now you know why. FYI, this shoe is similar in size to the 1260 so you won't need to size up. It is available in 2E and the 940 2E is a real 2E.
New Balance is the new wave
New Balance is the new wave of foot technology. They have definitely upped their game. This is my third pair in-a-row. I have plantar fascitiis, and New Balance seem to have the most comfortable fit for it.

Now, this is a motion control shoe! American made...You can generally expect the New Balance company to produce a fine shoe, except for their Chinese made models, which, like just about anything made in China is junk. Shame on you, New Balance, for putting your good name on deceptive, made in China junk. Why would you risk your good name, in this way?
