sizing different than New Balance
My brother has dystonia one side of his body effecting his calf and foot, making that foot very difficult to find a shoe that fits. He has had success with New Balance but wanted a someone dressier shoe for other occasions. I ordered his NB size, which is too large in these shoes; I'll try a half size smaller in this shoe, which seems comfortable otherwise.

I bought these shoes for my dad because they have a rollbar to help stabilize his foot so it won't roll in. They were too narrow (my fault) so we are returning them and plan to get them in the right size. The quality was excellent.

after yrs of 991 and equivalents, i gave up on NB due to discontinuations, and size variations. just couldn't find a good replacement (for walking). well, this one seems to do it. i'm still new to it, but so far so good. i have a between size issue (between D width and 2E) so i'm in a 2e, and while it's slightly wide, it's a good compromise. the shoe seems well made, and so far so good

Men's MW759 Country Walking Shoe by New Balance
I ordered this pair of walking shoes to replace an old pair of NB Athletic Shoes, white, that finally were too far gone to keep, even for mowing the lawn, which they had been deligated to for several years. This new pair will be used for walking until they finally also go on the yard work. The tongue is unnecessairly thick, but the shoe overall is comfortable, right out of the box. Not a bad looking shoe, but it does look a little to fuddy duddy. This term, pretty much sizes my in general purchase of shoes. I don't expect my purchases to look styleish or trendy, but when I do buy, they always seem to be this way, as is this pair of shoes. I now live in the South where shoes are hot on the feet, about half the time and sandles, thongs or water shoes is the norm. I wonder how the common man can stand to wear work boots or work shoes in this environment of heat and sweat. This shoe is a functional walking shoe, which is comfortable and reasonably priced. Good enough for the likes of me.

I've worn New Balance walkers for years. SL-2 is a good last. Leather uppers breathe. I look carefully for the leather uppers and few shoes still have them. These are my 'stupid' shoes because of the velcro ties, but they work well and feel good. That said, shoes are uniquely good/bad depending on your feet. Try them before you walk in mud so you can return them if they don't make your feet feel good.
