samba is always great
Timeless design, high quality, low price.
These are fantastic shoes. The Samba's provide a timeless GAT-inspired design that has been going strong since the '50s. Without shelling out hundreds for the MMs, these are a stylish, affordable, and good quality alternative.I own both white and black pairs; honestly I think the black pair are a better colour combination, but the white pair are also extremely versatile. They have a sleek profile and are very comfortable. After a couple of months of wear, they have developed some nice creases that are a sign of quality leather.I read loads of reviews about 'squeaking' with these shoes, but who cares? Unless you are a library employee, it's probably not a deal breaker. Mine squeaked a little bit for the first couple of weeks of wear, but it didn't bother me.Adidas' range of leather sneakers are easily the best price/quality ratio you can get. For under $100, all of their leather shoes are of a high quality with near-perfect stitching, sturdy leather and an overall sturdy construction. I chose these over the Stan Smiths because frankly the Stans are just too ubiquitous for my liking. I live in Japan where for some reason the Sambas aren't even for sale.

Fashion Vs. Classic
I've worn Samba Classics for almost 23 years. Classics are the best fitting shoes I've ever worn, and around age 16 I had settled into a US 11 and that size has fit perfectly for 15 years with no need to break in, stretch, etc. I got these in 11 and they are a different fit and feel. These are not quite as comfy around the edges and a bit tight, though that may get better over time; I'm a week in and they are already starting to break in a bit. The spread on the laces are wide, giving the overall look and feel of the shoe a more casual/ less athletic tone. I actually like this, but it was a surprise as I was expecting a stock Samba Classic fit. They are definitely shorter and slimmer giving a tighter, almost uncomfortable feel, but that may change with break-in as well. I don't think these are any more squeaky than Sambas have always been for me. The tongue is a different design and takes getting used to, but the lower profile makes for less interference on the cuff of my trousers. All that said, these are beautiful shoes, and have gotten more compliments than any shoes I own; more than my Ben Sherman's, John Varvatos leather Chuck Taylor's, Onitsuka Tigers, etc.If I had it to do over, I'd probably go for a half size bigger, but time will tell if they stretch more and get a more like-a-glove fit that I'm used to from my Sambas.

Samba a true classic.
Best pair of running shoes I've ever purchased.
After my 30th birthday in August 2005, I decided I wanted to get into tip-top shape. I began to run 5 miles per day. I know I needed a good pair of running shoes. So I researched Amazon and found this pair of Adidas. They are comfortable. They provide good support for my feet and they look nice. What more could you ask from a running shoe? I have read that you should not spend more than $80 on running shoes because if you are an avid runner, you will more than likely buy shoes every 6 months. This was a good purchase. I didn't regret this purchase at all and I would buy these same shoes again.
Favorite pair
What ussually happens with Adidas shoes is that they fit me half a smaller size from what I usually wear. Every single pair of shoes I own are size 9.5, I ordered this pair in size 9. They feel great. Amazing to juggle with your soccer ball anytime. very happy and very well made shoes.
So far, So good
Only time will tell. The fit on this boot is far better than anything from 5-10 (Adidas) in the past. This boot looks and feels far more sturdy than the Canyoneer which I had previously and lasted less than one year before self-destructing. I love the very secure feel these boots have, traction is excellent as well. Although some reviews mentioned a potential lack of drainage, that didn't seem the case for me this weekend. I plan to update this review in one year of use so I can see if these hold up to kayaking and rescue work. They work exceptionally well for climbing and wading streams.
How to fix the squeak!
If your new samba's squeak, give them time to break in. If you want a quick fix, rub some lotion into the tongue and parts that rub. You don't need a whole lot, just a little to make it not squeak.I've owned several pairs of Samba shoes over the years, and they've all been durable and comfortable, I love how they take the shape of your foot over time.
